Here’s an opportunity to extend your playing career with some enjoyable competition against other similar aged people in the South West area.
Devon enters teams in two competitions. Trials will take place on Sun 25th Sep 2011 at Maynards School, Spicer Road, Exeter
The competitions are divided into the following age-groups - Over 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 and 70 (a new age group for this season).
Approximately 60 players from all over Devon are normally involved in the programme of matches, and the Devon County Badminton Association are keen to invite veterans who are still playing at a good standard in local clubs and leagues. Previous county playing experience in their younger days is not necessary.
Trialists are asked to contribute £4 towards the cost of shuttles and hire of the hall
If you are new to the Devon veterans then please contact Dylys Bradshaw before 19th September (Dylys Bradshaw, 32 Furzehatt Road, Plymstock, Plymouth, PL9 8QS Tel: 01752 402015). Players who have previously played for Devon should have received letters from DCBA.
To qualify for a team you must have reached the minimum age for that team by the date of the match. Players will be selected on merit for any team for which they are eligible and wish to be considered. If a player wishes to be considered for a lower age group and fails to be selected that player will automatically be considered for selection for any higher age group. However, you are still strongly recommended to trial in your own age group in order to maintain a steady progression of players through the different categories.
Home Venue: All home matches this season will be played at Acorn Youth Community & Sports Centre, Lummaton Cross, Barton, Torquay, TQ2 8ET (Tel no. 01803 328819), commencing at 1pm and finishing by 5pm
Rally Points Scoring System will be used in all veterans' matches and tournaments.

Over 50 & Over 60 7-8th January 2012, David English Centre, Bournemouth.
Over 70 7-8th Jan 2012, Fenton Manor, Stoke on Trent
Over 40, 45, 55 & Over 65 14-15th January 2012, David English Centre, Bournemouth.
